Unique handmade paper is created by the artist using recycled paper in Hawaii. Sheets are naturally dried using the warmth of the Hawaiian sun and then used to create individualized personal products. Traditional Hawaiian motifs are added by the artist to create a distinctive image which can be enjoyed each time the item is used and it will bring back memories of your time in the tropical paradise of the Hawaiian Islands. The handmade paper has an unusual texture due to the use of recycled raw materials
which also provides a tactile sensation with each use. The handmade paper has what might be described as a "mottled" or "bumpy" surface creating a degree of three-dimensionality. Each Hawaiian Bookmark is reinforced with a stiff backing sheet to give it firmness and more durability. The top is accented with two coordinating colored ribbons tied at the top.
