Unique handmade paper is created by the artist using recycled paper in Hawaii. Sheets are naturally dried using the warmth of theHawaiian sun and then used to create individualized personal products. Traditional Hawaiian motifs are added by the artist to create a distinctive image which can be enjoyed each time the item is used and it will bring back memories of your time in the tropical paradise of the Hawaiian Islands. The handmade paper has an unusual texture due to the use of recycled raw materials which also provides a tactile sensation with each use. The handmade paper has what might be described as a "mottled" or "bumpy" surface creating a degree of three-dimensionality. The cover of each Notepad with Pen is made of 1/8th inch hardboard which is then covered with the handmade specialty paper. The spine of each Notepad with Pen has a coordinated fabric design. The interior notepad can be replaced using a standard 3 inch by 5 inch Post-It Pad or similar product. Remove the pad back to adhere or use double sided tape to secure the pad into place within the notepad cover.The pen liner features the same design as the notepad cover. Each Notepad with Pen is packaged in a polybag for shipment. Size is approximately 5 inches by 3 inches by 3/4 inch. This unique candle sculpture creates the feeling of ancient Hawaii right in your own home. The copper coated steel sculpture is handbent, welded and coated in black by the artist. The sculpture is 6 1/2 inches tall and comes with its own glass candle holder and plumeria scented candle. The candle can be replaced with standard tealight candles available at many specialty and variety stores. When the candle is lit, it projects a 3 foot image of the sculpture on your wall. Move the sculpture further away from the wall and the image increases in size. As the light flickers, the image gently moves, creating an animated effect. 6 inch by 6 inch ceramic tile clock. Each tile has been fired to 1850 degrees. Hand painted and air-brushed before glazing. Will not fade. Clock operates on a single AA size battery. No second hand because time is not measured that closely in Hawaii. Note the hour designations as being "one-ish, two-ish..." to show the more relaxed perspective of time on the islands.
